WaterWorks - group brainstorming

Year 10 students have been working in groups to generate ideas for re-usable water containers.

Given only 10 minutes each they generate ideas for each other on post it notes.

They were amazed at how many ideas they came up with in such a short space if time.

Final Yr 8 Sensor Projects

Mr Mistry's Yr8's have finally finished their Sensor Mood Lights. Hope you like the results.

Yr 12 Card Stand Challenge

Mr Mistry's Yr 12's have spend a few lessons trying to make a copy of a steel card frame using nothing but art straws. This was a difficult challenge as they were asked to be as accurate as possible.

Year 12 Modelling Skills

The group worked in pairs to create working models of collapsible chairs and tables today. The focus of this lesson was to improve their modelling skills and to get them thinking about complex ideas with working parts in challenges and not just to play it safe.

Some were more successful than others, but all agreed it was a worthwhile experience.

Yr 11 DT Club

First night of our Yr 11 RMT club and we have a couple of students who wanted to continue with their projects. Jack is creating a table using Mortis and Tenon joints and Alex is creating a large circular sander or a new jig for his cabinet.
